The term "ISRAEL" refers to: The name which "Jacob," the grandson of Abraham, received from the Lord - Genesis 32:28; 35:10
The word "ISRAEL" refers to the unique "nation" which was promised to
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - Genesis 12:2; 35:11
The word "ISRAEL" refers to the people who came out of bondage in
Egypt & were given the 613 commandments of God - Deuteronomy 4:1, 7-8
The term "ISRAEL" refers to the phrase "the children of Israel"- 644 times
in the Bible.
The twelve tribes who descended from the sons of Jacob are referring to the Nation of ISRAEL - Genesis 49:28
The ten northern tribes after the kingdom of Saul, David, & Solomon was divided in the days of Rehoboam and these 10 northern tribes were called "ISRAEL" and the southern kingdom of two tribes was called "JUDAH" - I Kings 12:16-21 (included Judah and Benjamin). The church of Jesus Christ is composed of both Jews

The nation of Israel will never cease to exist -and will be given their land forever -Jeremiah 31:35-37
Israel has never been forsaken by God - Romans 11:1-2; Psalm 89:29-37; Lamentations 3:31-32.
During the tribulation, 144,000 from the tribes of the children of Israel will be protected by God and used by Him to spread the gospel to the whole world - Revelation 7:1-8; 14:1-6.
During the coming tribulation, Israel will be protected and nourished by the Lord - Revelation 12:14-17.

The church has NEVER replaced Israel in God's prophetic program. The word "Israel" is separate and unique - the means by which God reveals His character and attributes of love and faithfulness to the entire world - Deuteronomy 7:6-9. Jesus (Hebrew - Yeshua) told the Samaritan woman that "salvation is of the Jews" - John 4:22. All true believers are "children of Abraham" by faith in the Messiah of Israel -Romans4:11; Galatians 3:7.
