Prayer Point: Juanita was orphaned at a young age, leaving her feeling alone. As an adult, she found companionship in the man who became her husband. After 17 years of marriage and three children, she gave birth to another child, Thiago. To Juanita’s dismay, he was born with a congenital heart defect. The challenge of his medical condition caused her to feel alone again in her struggles. Eventually, Juanita brought Thiago to the Children's Heart Project office in La Paz, where he was accepted for surgery in Canada. Juanita had to leave her family to undertake a long journey to try to save Thiago’s life. What she didn’t know was that amidst this season of suffering, pain, and fear, she was experiencing the love of a parent she had never known, her Heavenly Father. Through the interpreter who traveled with them from Bolivia, Juanita heard the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God touched her heart, and she recognized her need for a Savior. She began to feel a surprising embrace. Through her Canadian host family and host church, she felt God’s love and He became more real in her life. “It was incredible receiving so much love and care from people who did not know me,” Juanita said. “I believe God Himself was demonstrating His love, using all of these people.” Thiago’s heart surgery was a success. Today, he is a healthy 3-yearold child who can talk, run, and jump. As for Juanita, she has a new eternal heart as well. Even though she continues to experience life’s difficulties, she is actively aware of God’s blessings in her life. Juanita regularly attends a local church and is active in a women’s Bible study. “I believe I am another person,” she said. “God has changed me. Now, I can laugh, and now I can love my children like God, my Father, loves me.”

Please pray That Thiago will continue to grow in health and will experience God’s love from his mother. That Juanita will “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). That other children who receive surgery through Children’s Heart Project—and their families—will experience physical and spiritual healing.

A heart warming story, God is good,- through out some of life worst experiences , Gods love fills us the most, through it , our way is illuminated by his hole spirit - Juanita was blessed by the love adn support of her christian host family, - which still illuminates her way, Praise God ~
