THE ATTACK ON THE RAPTURE
Among God's people there is a great conflict over the doctrine of the "RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH" as an event occurring before the Great Tribulation (Day of the LORD).
We at HOPE for TODAY are firmly committed to the PRE-TRIBULATIONAL RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH. We have fellowship with those who disagree but do believe that the "RAPTURE" is a separate event from the "REVELATION" that will occur at the end of the Great Tribulation.
At the Rapture, our Lord Yeshua comes "for" His saints, and at the Revelation, He comes "with" His saints.
The Greek word that is translated for the Rapture is "harpazo" which in I Thessalonians 4:13-18 uses the English words "caught up." We have several detailed messages about the Pre-Tribulational Rapture that you can order from our ministry, including one that answers the SEVEN MAJOR OBJECTIONS to the Pre-Tribulational Rapture.
MAHMOUD ABBAS SAYS: "WE WILL NEVER RECOGNIZE ISRAEL AS A JEWISH STATE!" by Elad Benari (Arutz Sheva News) In a meeting of Arab foreign ministers, Abbas again rejects recognition of Israel, says he will join international conventions and treaties. "We will never recognize the Jewishness of the state of Israel," Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared on Saturday. Abbas's statement came at a meeting of Arab foreign ministers and was quoted by Channel 10 News. At that same meeting, the foreign ministers announced their "categorical rejection of recognizing Israel as a Jewish state." According to Channel 10, Abbas said in his remarks at the meeting that the security coordination between Israel and the PA would be suspended unless peace negotiations resume. He further said that he demanded that the United States and its Secretary of State John Kerry work together with him to create an outline to be submitted to the UN Security Council and which would pressure Israel to stop "settlement construction." "The situation in Judea and Samaria is dangerous and cannot continue. All indications are that the American mediation failed to complete the negotiations," Abbas was quoted as having said, adding that he plans to sign international conventions and treaties, including the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Abbas is moving forward with plans to turn to the Security Council with a resolution setting a deadline for Israel to "end the occupation", a unilateral move that is in violation of the Oslo Accords. The move has been accompanied by threats, with Abbas having recently threatened to cut ties with Israel if his latest unilateral move at the UN fails. Even though the PA has reaffirmed several times it would be going through with the unilateral move, reports earlier this week said that the PA postponed submitting the resolution, in order to buy time in continuing to lobby for the required nine council members to vote for the move.
RUSSIA EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY'S UN RESOLUTION Russia says it intends to support the draft resolution which would set a deadline for Israel to withdraw from Judea and Samaria. Russia said on Thursday it intends to support the draft resolution submitted by the Palestinian Authority (PA) to the United Nations Security Council which would set a deadline for Israel to withdraw from Judea and Samaria. "As far as we understand the Palestinians, the vote may take place shortly although they have yet to set the precise date. We have repeatedly said that we will vote for this resolution," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told the Interfax news agency. "We would like to see a text that will satisfy all the 15 members of the UN Security Council and be truly oriented towards practical results, such as the Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the beginning of the negotiating process and the resolution of all problems, he added. "In our opinion, it is important that all members of the Security Council support it [this resolution]," stressed Gatilov. The text of the draft resolution calls for Israel to "end the occupation" - that is, to withdraw from Judea and Samaria - by 2017. The draft resolution would set a 12-month deadline for wrapping up negotiations on a final settlement and the end of 2017 as the time frame for completing an Israeli withdrawal from Judea and Samaria. According to Gatilov, the resolution has been formally presented to the UN Security Council as a document. "This means a vote may be held in 24 hours. The Palestinians have formal grounds to demand a vote any moment," the senior Russian diplomat said. Consultations on the draft resolution continue between delegations, Gatilov added. Earlier this week, diplomatic sources estimated that the vote on the unilateral resolution is likely to be postponed. According to the sources, the PA wants to postpone the vote on the resolution because it realized that its current wording is unacceptable to countries such as France and Luxembourg, two countries that the PA had hoped would support the resolution. Nevertheless, PA chief negotiator Saeb Erekat said on Tuesday that he believed the Security Council would vote on the resolution even before the end of 2014. David Hocking HFT Connect
