The huge problem with the political "Conservatism" and "Liberalisim" labels.

It's sad but true, most news about people these days in America is being broken down by labels such as "liberals" and "conservatives".
Liberal is a defined as someone who believes in extreme liberties and believes in a government that will enforce those beliefs no matter how extreme, very atheistic towards religious matters and protections. Socially, more benefits are demanded and government demands more taxation from all, businesses and individuals alike. New victims are created continually and more rights are needed along with more laws.
Hollywood today along with TV talk shows are a good example of what liberals believe. Most promote values of pleasure, fairness is defined as a right even if it perverted, very rarely are shows promoting wholesomeness and family integrity.
The other is conservative someone who believes in smaller government, less taxation, less services, service to hear say religious beliefs not really defined. Business is priority over the welfare of the individual because of profits. Even if a factory is moved out to another country and uses penny wage labor. There is never enough money. To be a "conservative" is to be a patriot.
Let's look at some of the extremist views such as conservative radio talk shows or conservative writers. Most are gifted in political viewpoints. Practically all have fallen off the wagon as far as Christian views though.
Most believe that all paths lead to God, God is defined as "higher power" they may also quote the Bible. Do they read the Bible or know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior? very few do.
Both are views are skewed to benefit the main players with pretenses of prosperity to whomever supports their causes.
Both are wrong and need to be dealt with through the eyes of God's Word the Bible. This is always the right view and we must battle our minds with it.
Movements come and go, personalities come and go, nations shall rise and fall but the Lord's ways are forever.

Here is a daily reality: the world scoffs at the Bible and Christians. Of course some Christians are responsible for this. There are so many cults and control issues within Christianity. But it doesn't have to be this way. Educate yourself, read the Bible and learn. Listen to Radio Ministries:

Attitudes and thoughtlife

This is a big one, no one can master this but at least we can be aware and understand it. The most important part is to confess sin when we blow it. It is a daily task, we are human and frail. We may try to pretend to look saintly in a confrontation, or a temptation. Our thoughts may be hidden from others, but God knows our hearts and that has to be constantly on our minds. That goes a long way when we know that.
When Jesus came He made it clear actions alone are not what He is looking at but also our thought life, attitudes. This blew the Pharisee's mind because they were well versed in symbolic gestures, overtly religious but their thought life gave them away as hypocrites. And that's what we don't want to be.
We know we are saved by grace and we can never attain salvation by works but we should be looking to please God with our gestures and thought life too. A saved life loves God's Word, and wants to please the Father.
Prayer will help us overcome our inability to cope with our wrong attitudes with people we have problems with.

What counts in the end?

It is your relationship with Jesus Christ (Love the Lord!) It's the ultimate! And what is the second? Love your neighbor as yourself.
Luke 10:27 So he answered and said, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'"
A life long task is at hand here...

The Mind Battle? Yes in this age of information and even before this, everywhere you are, something is drawing attention to itself. What will count in this life? If you are famous? Rich? Noble? Have a large family? Know a lot of people? A great job? A great life? political clout?
What will you gain if you have all the riches and lose your soul? says Jesus. Matthew 16:26 "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
There is more now to distract us from Jesus than ever before: Internet, cellphones, texting, music, cable TV, movies, video games just to name of few.
Not only that, but many of these things can be our downfall as we all well know.
This blog is for encouraging Christians where ever you may be. It is assumed that you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your life and are attending a Bible believing church. We would have you avoid these denominations: Jehovah Witness's, Mormons, Christian Science due to their false doctrines of "works makes you saved", not Jesus Christ's sacrifice and resurrection.
The focus is Christ, no rabbit trails into politics, denominations. Bring out what can help us focus our minds for Him. Suggest books, videos to encourage our walk.
